Note from Joe Druga
Youth & Family Pastor

It is such a pleasure to serve together with you. Throughout the past school year, I have seen so many people serve in some really incredible ways. It was a joy to hear the Gospel being shared with children in our Awana clubs, to see the gentleness and love of Jesus exampled in our Sunday School teachers, and to speak with students each week who had grown in their love for God as a result of the discipleship from our Adult Sponsors in Glimpse. Thank you, for the time and commitment you have given to ministering to families, encouraging them in their spiritual formation. I pray the Lord continues to be served with such willing people from our church body.

With the close of the school year, the ministries for children here at KCC will look a bit different for the summer months. (There's good information here for adults too...opportunities to serve and information about Community Groups during the Sunday School.) Here's the run down:

Glimpse Student Ministries
May 16 will be the last Wednesday night of the school year for Glimpse. Students and Sponsors are celebrating another fantastic year. The end-of-the-school-year celebration will be at Tom & Gary’s Bowling in Annandale, 6:30-8:30pm.

This summer, students going in to 7th grade-12th grade will continue to meet for Sunday School together each week at 9:15am. There will also be opportunities to hangout together throughout the summer for some fun.

For Senior High students going on the mission trip to Logan, WV, with Youth Works, your Student Packets are DUE. This trip is June 2-9; Pastor Joe is requesting 3 adults to join with (2 female and 1 male)--please talk to Pastor Joe or email him at Joe@KimballChristian.org, if interested.

Sunday School
During Sunday School hour on May 20, students Pre-K through High School will be introduced to their Sunday School teachers at the next grade-level. (Students will begin in their usual classrooms, but at the conclusion of Sunday School hour they can be picked up at the classroom cooresponding to the grade they will be in this fall.)

The following Sunday, May 27, will be a "Donut Sunday," given the holiday weekend. (There will be no Sunday School classes and Community Groups on May 27--come for coffee and donuts in the Fellowship Hall at 9:15am.)

June 3 will kickoff our summer schedule for Sunday School and Community Group hour. Please note the change of room assignments beginning June 3:

Ages 0-4....................................Nursery
Pre-K-6th Grade........................Youth Rm
7th-12th Grade...........................Rm 120
Hollingsworth Community Grp...Library
Goff Community Grp.................Rm 110
Albert Community Grp.............. Fellow.Hall

(Magnuson's Community Grp will come back together in the fall.)
VBS

Vacation Bible School is July 29-August 2 this summer. It's hosted in the evenings Sunday-Thursday from 6:30-8:30pm.

VBS is geared to kids ages 3 through 6th grade. It is a free event, open to the community, so save the dates and look for more information coming soon--it's a great opportunity to invite the neighbors! Kids have an incredible time all week with fun activities, games, prizes, and Bible stories.

Awana
Awana is on its summer break. The clubs will begin again Wed., September 12

In the meantime, plans are being made for the fall. If you'd like to serve in Awana, please email our new Commander, Shari Dircks, at Awana@KimballChristian.org. All volunteers should note that Our Awana Training Night is going to be August 15 at 7:00pm.

Our church body is always on the look out for ways to love God, love others, and serve, for which we are very thankful. The following are additional opportunities for us in the coming weeks:
Work Day
OUTDOOR CHURCH WORK DAY
SATURDAY, MAY 19
8:00am-12:00pm

Anyone willing to put some sweat equity into the exterior of the building and church property is appreciated. We have an outdoor church work day planned for Saturday morning, May 19. It will include picking up debris around the property, organizing storage garages, painting, etc.

A couple dozen people would be appreciated.

There are also a few projects that will require a special skill-set. Please contact Sherman Minter (scminter@gmail.com) if you have questions regarding the projects listed in last week's bulletin. Thank you!

Gideons International

GIDEONS INTERNATIONAL
SUNDAY GUESTS, MAY 20

On Sunday, May 20, a representative with the Gideon's International will be our guest during both worship services. Gideon's International is an interdenominational association of Christian business and professional men and wives, who are dedicated to saving the lost. Personal witnessing and the distribution of Bibles, as they travel, is their ministry.

Please be in prayer for how the Lord would have you give to support the work of evangelism through Gideons International. We appreciated the supply of Bibles that Gideons International provides us, as well, for our own use in evangelism. Visit https://www2.gideons.org for more information.

On Sunday, May 20, the Elders and their wives cordially invite our widows to lunch at Triple R Restaurant in Kimball at 12:00pm.
In these busy seasons where planning is going on throughout various ministries in the church, it is important to remember our time together in prayer.

"A Church That Prays Together Stays Together."

If you're able to, Prayer Council meets (tonight) May 15 at 6:00pm at the church. Come pray with others for the ministry and for those who are on the prayer lists of others.
